Landing Doors & Interlocks
Typical swinging landing doors will have the interlock mounted inside the door frame behind the door, usually in the upper corner. When using the elevator pay attention to the following features of the interlock:
- The interlock should be securely fastened to the door frame.
- There must not be any exposed wiring or electrical connections.
- The interlock must have an emergency “manual” release mechanism.
- EVERY landing door must have an interlock.
If for any reason your elevator can move after a call has been placed with one or more of the landing doors in the open position DO NOT USE THE ELEVATOR and call your elevator service company immediately.
