Operation & Safety

Landing Doors & Interlocks

The interlock locking “beak” is fastened securely to the landing door at EVERY landing. This securely holds the landing door in the locked position when the elevator car is not present.

  • Regularly check the locking “beak” when entering the elevator.
  • The beak should not be worn or damaged in any way.
  • The beak must be “securely” fastened to the door.

Regular service and maintenance of your elevator is essential in ensuring safe operation of the landing door interlocks and your entire elevator.
