| Your Elevator manufacturer should have included an owner's manual with instructions for your elevator along with an emergency unlocking tool and emergency lowering device for use to evacuate trapped passengers in the event of an emergency. Emergency evacuation of trapped passengers is only to be done by qualified and trained personnel and/or emergency first responders. DO NOT attempt to evacuate trapped passengers yourself as this poses hazards to both you and the trapped passenger(s). Secure the owner's manual in a safe and accessible place to ensure that you can provide it to the emergency personnel quickly and easily should the need ever arise. Read and understand the safety procedures so that you can assist the emergency personnel in locating the emergency unlocking devices and access points as well as the emergency lowering/raising device(s) specific to YOUR elevator. |
